What Happened

Google rolled out AI Mode on Chrome desktop Thursday, enabling side-by-side webpage viewing with conversational search. Users can click links to open websites alongside AI Mode, facilitating comparisons and follow-up questions while maintaining search context. The feature allows searching across open Chrome tabs, mixing multiple tabs, images, and files into AI searches. Examples include comparing product details and researching hiking trails. Available in U.S. English currently, with expansion planned.
