‘Gilgo Serial Killer’ Pleads Guilty to Long Island Murders

What Happened

Rex Heuermann, 62, pleaded guilty to murdering seven women on Long Island spanning from the early 1990s to 2010. The architect was arrested in 2023. He admitted to killing an eighth person. Heuermann faces consecutive life sentences without parole. Sentencing is scheduled for June 17. The killings gained widespread attention after remains were discovered wrapped in burlap near Gilgo Beach in 2010.
