What Happened

Capella Kerst, Stanford PhD student, founded geCKo Materials to commercialize bio-inspired adhesives modeled after gecko feet. Her breakthrough made rapid, reliable production possible. Five years later, the company scales applications across robotics, manufacturing, automotive, and space. The material is already deployed on the International Space Station. Kerst aims replacing traditional attachment methods like Velcro.
