A 30-year-old farmer from Batala, Gurdaspur district, transformed a four-acre mustard farm into a multi-crore food processing enterprise in three years. Manmeet Singh, a BTech graduate in Food Technology, established a wood-pressed oil extraction unit producing 125-150 liters daily. Starting with Rs 3 lakh family investment and government loan, he now operates three machines, sells 45-50 tonnes annually at premium prices, and generates Rs 2.5 crore annual turnover with 15 percent profit margins.
