What Happened
GMADA faces controversy over recovering additional charges from Mohali Sectors 76-80 plot allottees. Following a Punjab Cabinet decision reducing additional price from Rs 3,164 to Rs 2,216 per square metre in April, the authority deducted interest and penalties while refunding excess amounts. Allottees claim this constitutes gross injustice. Committee president Sucha Singh Kalaur demanded refunds without deductions.
