Four dead in highway pile-up in Karnataka

What Happened

Four people died in a highway pile-up involving a bus, lorry, car, and motorcycles near Hospet in Karnataka's Vijayanagara district on National Highway 50 Sunday. A speeding garlic-laden lorry collided with a bike, then crashed into a bus and car, overturning and dragging the car 100 metres. The lorry's four occupants died at the scene. Several others sustained injuries. Rescue operations cleared wreckage; injured received hospital treatment.
