Ford EV and tech chief leaving automaker

What Happened

Doug Field, Ford's chief EV and technology executive, is leaving the automaker Wednesday as part of a leadership reorganization. Field joined Ford in 2021 from Tesla and Apple, tasked with modernizing the company's software and EV capabilities. His responsibilities included vehicle controls, connectivity, driver-assistance technology, and cybersecurity. COO Kumar Galhotra will lead a new product creation team absorbing Field's EV division.
