Delhi's Irrigation & Flood Control Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh announced that a 400-meter section of Delhi Gate drain, covered with concrete for 40 years, is being cleaned ahead of monsoon. Desilting work is 70% complete with 21,000 metric tonnes of silt removed. The drain covers Daryaganj, ITO, and surrounding areas that experienced severe flooding in 2023. Officials expect improved drainage and reduced waterlogging after uncovering and restoration.
