What Happened

A bus carrying forty devotees from Main Majri village overturned near Himmatpura in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district on Tuesday around 10 pm. The vehicle hit an electric pole after the driver allegedly lost control due to mechanical malfunction. Eight people died, including two women. The accident occurred just 1.5 kilometers from the passengers' destination. They were returning from Anandpur Sahib after Baisakhi celebrations. Many injured were hospitalized in Chandigarh and nearby districts.
