What Happened

Delhi government released its draft Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 on Saturday. Key proposals include 50% tax exemption for strong hybrid cars priced up to Rs 30 lakh, bans on new petrol two-wheeler registration from April 2028 and CNG autorickshaws from 2027. Electric vehicles get 100% tax exemption until March 2030. Year-wise purchase incentives for electric two and three-wheelers are proposed for three years. Public comments invited until May 10.
