Cyber fraud: After father books car on rent, man loses Rs 7 lakh

What Happened
A 25-year-old tech consultant lost Rs 7.07 lakh after his father provided credit card details to fraudsters posing as a car rental service on WhatsApp. On November 26, the father called a fake rental number, shared card information, and clicked a malicious link. Fraudsters gained phone access and transferred funds in three transactions. Kothrud police registered an FIR and are investigating bank accounts and phone numbers used.
