What Happened

Culture writer Sukant Deepak received the Karan Singh Foundation Fellowship for Translation. He will translate selected short stories by his father, Hindi author Swadesh Deepak, into English. The six-month fellowship supports Deepak's project to expand readership of his father's works beyond Hindi audiences. Deepak previously translated Swadesh Deepak's stories for anthology 'A Bouquet of Dead Flowers' and Indian Literature journal. He currently works at Institute for Development and Communication, Chandigarh.
