What Happened

Bhavnagar City Congress president Manoharsinh Gohil was detained on suspicion of abducting party candidate Bharat Ramesh Kambad for BMC elections. Kambad subsequently released a video and submitted a notarized affidavit stating he voluntarily went into hiding in Amreli district to protect democracy. Police released Gohil after the affidavit submission. Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil criticized the action as political misuse of power.
