
Congress selected 65-year-old Sudha Bhardwaj as its Panchkula mayoral candidate for May 10 elections, replacing former mayor Upinder Ahluwalia who lost previously. Bhardwaj, a Sector 6 resident with education from Kurukshetra University, served as Congress women's wing state president. Her husband Sanjeev Bhardwaj criticized the city's deterioration and a Rs 160-crore fraud.
