India's non-profit sector comprises 369,505 registered organizations with combined expenditure of ₹11.3 trillion in FY24, representing 3.78% of GDP. However, funding remains concentrated in five states accounting for 60% of registrations. Underdeveloped states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha have minimal non-profit presence. Technology incubators show 17% annual growth, while traditional NGOs grow at 6%. Geographic imbalance creates structural constraints preventing philanthropy from reaching areas needing it most.
