Bitcoin gets its first working prototype of quantum-resistant wallet rescue tool

What Happened

Olaoluwa Osuntokun, chief technology officer at Lightning Labs, unveiled a working prototype for rescuing Bitcoin wallets from quantum computer attacks. The tool allows users to prove wallet ownership using their seed phrase without revealing it, avoiding the problem where an emergency quantum-defense upgrade could lock users out of funds. Testing showed proof generation took 55 seconds on a MacBook.
