US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell met with bank CEOs in Washington on Tuesday to warn them about cybersecurity risks from Anthropic's new Mythos AI model. Anthropic said Mythos can identify and exploit weaknesses in major operating systems and web browsers. The company limited access to 40 technology firms. Separately, a federal appeals court declined to block the Pentagon's national security blacklisting of Anthropic.
