What Happened

The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia launched the Heat Information Hub in New Delhi on World Health Day. The hub will provide heat-related early warnings and coordinate regional efforts to reduce heat-related deaths and property damage. Asia warms twice faster than other continents. India recorded its eighth warmest year in 2024, with temperature 0.28°C above average. The hub will deliver temperature alerts, suggest safer working hours, and strengthen policy advice for health services across South Asia.
