Bangladesh's foreign minister Khalilur Rahman met India's petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday, requesting higher diesel and fertilizer supplies amid global shortages. India supplies diesel through the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline, with annual supplies reaching approximately 100,000 tonnes. Puri indicated India will consider the request favorably. India, the world's fourth-largest refiner, is addressing petroleum supply requests from multiple neighboring countries including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Maldives.
