What Happened
At least eighteen people died and six sustained severe injuries in a massive explosion at Vanaja fireworks factory in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The blast occurred in the front verandah where workers handled raw materials. Three rooms collapsed completely. Four injured remain in critical condition at government hospital. Factory reportedly held valid PESO license and employed over 100 workers.
