Delhi's Public Works Department will use precast drain technology instead of cast in-situ methods to reduce waterlogging and pollution. Precast drains, factory-made from reinforced cement concrete, offer fifty-year guarantees versus three to four years for traditional methods. Installation is faster and causes less traffic disruption. The department has begun work in Shalimar Bagh and plans citywide expansion. Officials identified seventy-seven waterlogging hotspots for priority drainage improvements.
