
Maharashtra Cabinet Tuesday approved creating a separate Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department to accelerate digital governance. The state will restructure power utility Mahavitaran, raising Rs 32,679 crore through government-backed bonds and listing it on stock market. Agricultural power distribution will separate. Cabinet also approved Maharashtra Resilient Development Programme with Rs 165 crore World Bank funding for disaster relief, housing loans, credit support, and flood mitigation in Krishna basin areas.
