Afghanistan's foreign ministry called peace talks with Pakistan in China's Urumqi "useful" on Tuesday. The talks, launched last week, aim to stop cross-border fighting that began in February, killing hundreds and displacing 94,000 people. Pakistan conducted air strikes in Afghanistan, including Kabul. Afghanistan's acting Foreign Minister thanked China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, and UAE for mediation efforts. Both sides held discussions since April 1, though Pakistan has not commented on accusations of border shelling.
