An international collaboration including IUCAA faculty Prof. Anupam Bhardwaj measured the Hubble constant at 73.50 ± 0.81 kilometers per second per megaparsec, achieving 1% precision. The study, published in Astronomy & Astrophysics, used a Local Distance Network connecting multiple independent measurement methods instead of traditional single-chain approaches. Nearly 40 experts from various institutions participated. The findings support the Hubble tension puzzle, showing 10% discrepancy with early Universe observations.
