What Happened

Maharashtra's Higher and Technical Education Department released guidelines on April 6 for implementing four-year undergraduate programmes following National Education Policy 2020. The non-AICTE non-professional UG programme consists of eight semesters with two pathways: Honours and Honours with Research. Students pursuing Honours with Research must complete a 12-credit research project in fourth year. Colleges offering only three-year courses require approval to add a fourth year. Colleges with existing postgraduate programmes automatically qualify to offer fourth-year UG courses.
