The Madras High Court quashed criminal proceedings against three retired public sector employees in a 22-year-old HUDCO loan case. Justice M Nirmal Kumar noted HUDCO suffered no loss and received full repayment by 2005. The accused were denied retirement benefits, gratuity, and promotions. One petitioner is paralyzed and bedridden. The court ruled the prolonged trial violated their fundamental rights and constituted grave injustice.
