What Happened
Two bank employees from Ahmedabad, Krishan Pratap and Badal Gurnam Singh, were arrested in Panchkula for facilitating a Rs 1.75 crore cyber fraud. A Panchkula resident was duped through fake stock investment schemes on Facebook and WhatsApp in July 2024. The bank staffers helped open accounts and route defrauded money. Total accused in the case now numbers 14, with 12 previously arrested.
