What Happened
Two senior BCCL officials were allegedly assaulted by approximately 15-20 men on motorcycles in Dhanbad, Jharkhand on April 10 while inspecting damaged CCTV cameras at Block-2 mine. The group chased and attacked the officials, intercepting their vehicle 50-60 metres from Baghmara police station. An FIR was filed naming Pintu Mahto and associates, alleging involvement in illegal mining. Officials suspect information about the inspection was leaked beforehand.
