
Thirteen Bangladeshi women escaped from a Rescue Foundation shelter home in Pune's Mohammadwadi on March 23 after attacking a female staff member. Police arrested two women; eleven remain at large in Mumbai and Pune. The shelter houses 42 victims of human trafficking rescued under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. CCTV footage shows four women assaulting the staffer. Arrested women face charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wrongful confinement and voluntarily causing hurt.
